Saveur ("we," "us," "our") is an AI-powered interview coaching and career-preparation app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who this app is for

Saveur is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address, and authentication data, handled via Firebase Authentication. If you sign up with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile info those providers share (name, email).

Career profile. The goals, industries, target roles/positions, and preferred countries you tell us about, used to personalize interview questions, job alerts, and coaching tips.

Interview practice data. Your typed answers, and — for Voice or Video mode sessions — audio recordings and (Video mode only) camera frames analyzed for eye contact/expression signals. Video mode processes frames on your device for engagement signals; audio is sent to our speech-to-text and AI scoring providers to generate your feedback.

Documents you upload. Resumes, cover letters, certificates, transcripts, and portfolio files you choose to import, stored so our AI tools can reference them.

Connected inbox or calendar (optional). If you choose to connect a Gmail, Outlook Mail, Google Calendar, or Outlook Calendar account in Application Tracker, we access a limited, read-only view of that account — recent messages (Gmail's gmail.readonly / Outlook's Mail.Read scope) or recent/upcoming events (Google Calendar's calendar.readonly / Outlook's Calendars.Read scope) — solely to detect job-application status changes (Applied, Interviewing, Offer, Rejected) and interview invitations, and automatically update your Application Tracker. We don't read, store, or use anything else in your inbox or calendar, and we don't access this data at all unless you've explicitly connected an account. You can disconnect any of these at any time from the Application Tracker screen; disconnecting immediately stops all further access and deletes the stored connection credentials.

Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles that under its own privacy policy.

Usage data. Practice history, scores, streaks, and general app usage, used to power your progress dashboard and (only with your account's own data) any leaderboard you opt into.

Location (optional, one-time). On first launch, we may ask permission to use your approximate location once, solely to set the app's default language to the one spoken in your region. You can decline this and pick a language manually at any time; we do not track your location on an ongoing basis.

How we use your information

• To generate personalized interview questions, coaching feedback, resume suggestions, and career tips.
• To convert your practice answers to text and back to speech (Voice mode), and to score your performance.
• To process subscription payments and manage your account tier.
• To send you notifications you've opted into (job alerts, goal tips, session reminders).
• To improve the quality and accuracy of our coaching and scoring.
• If you've connected a Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, or Outlook Calendar account: to automatically detect job-application and interview status changes and update your Application Tracker, as described above.

Google API Services User Data Policy (Gmail & Google Calendar)

If you connect a Gmail or Google Calendar account, Saveur's use and transfer of information received from those Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We use this data only to provide the job-application/interview auto-detection feature described above, shown directly in the Application Tracker screen you connected it from.
• We never use this data to serve advertising, and we never use it to build advertising or user-profiling data of any kind.
• We do not allow humans to read this data, except: (a) with your affirmative, explicit consent (e.g., if you contact support about a specific issue), (b) for security purposes, such as investigating abuse or a security incident, (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) as part of a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, with notice to you.
• We do not transfer this data to third parties except: as necessary to provide the feature itself (our AI provider classifies the relevant message/event text to extract company/role/stage — see OpenAI below), for the security/legal/transaction reasons above, or with your consent.
• The same commitments apply to Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar connections, under Microsoft's equivalent data-handling terms.

Third parties we share data with

We share the minimum data necessary with the following processors, solely to provide the features above — none of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes:

• OpenAI — generates coaching feedback, resume rewrites, and scoring from your practice answers and documents; and, if you've connected an inbox or calendar, classifies the relevant message/event text to extract the company, role, and application stage (nothing else in that message/event is sent or retained).
• ElevenLabs — converts AI coach responses to speech.
• Deepgram — converts your spoken answers to text.
• Firebase (Google) — authentication and, where used, push notification delivery.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Google / Microsoft — only if you choose to connect a Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, or Outlook Calendar account, we call their APIs to read the limited data described above. We don't send your Saveur data back to Google or Microsoft beyond what's needed to authenticate the connection.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your practice recordings or documents with other users or with employers/recruiters without your explicit action (e.g., choosing to share something yourself).

Your rights and choices

• Access and export. You can request a copy of your data at any time.
• Delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, practice history, and uploaded documents from our systems, subject to the retention notes below.
• Update your profile. Goals, roles, countries, and language preferences are editable anytime from Settings.
• Notifications. You can turn off push notifications and email reminders from Settings.
• Language. You control your language setting at signup and any time afterward from Settings → Language; automatic region-based detection never overrides a language you've picked.
• Disconnect an inbox or calendar. Connecting Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, or Outlook Calendar is entirely optional and can be turned off any time from Application Tracker — this immediately stops all further access and deletes the stored connection credentials. You can also revoke access directly from your Google or Microsoft account's own security settings.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g., payment records for tax/accounting purposes) or where data has already been anonymized/aggregated for product improvement.

Connected inbox/calendar credentials. Access and refresh tokens for a connected Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, or Outlook Calendar account are stored encrypted at rest and are deleted immediately when you disconnect that account or delete your Saveur account — whichever happens first. When you first connect, we look back a short initial window (the last 7 days) to catch anything recent, then only read new messages/events going forward — we don't retroactively scan your full historical inbox or calendar.

Job alerts. Matched job postings shown in Job Alerts are automatically deleted 7 days after they're found, since postings that old are frequently filled or stale. If you tap the pin icon on an alert, we keep it for 30 days instead before it's automatically removed. This doesn't affect your saved profile, preferences, or any application/tracking notes you've entered elsewhere in the app — only the job posting entries themselves.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure — we can't guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
